Friendly owner and staff, and tasty food. The prices of the food items are reasonable being so expensive everywhere nowadays.

HK BBQ is the best in the area.  we always enjoy coming here when we have a craving for good chinese food, esp when we want a good roast duck wonton noodle soup.  there are chinese restaurants everywhere in the US but there are only places that serve authentic chinese food like this in heavily chinese  populated areas so i'm confused how this little gem showed up in Castro Valley.  these types of eateries are usually in chinatowns in oakland or SF or all the other smaller chinatowns in SF so i feel lucky we have one in the neighborhood.  With that said, the restaurant can hold its own in its chinese BBQs like roast duck, roast pork, cha sui, soy sauce chicken, etc.  they also have HK desserts that one can purchase off their refrigerator.  lastly, i forget to mention their staff, who greet all their customers like old friends, even on the first time i came to the restaurant.  highly recommend.

Prices keep going up but the food is still super strong.  We went with beef with black bean sauce chow fun and eggplant with spicy sauce over rice.  Super large portions and hard to beat the taste.  You can spend less elsewhere, but hard to beat the taste.  The chow fun had the right wok hei flavor to it.

Excellent HK BBQ. Is it the best in the bay area, no, but its quite good. Its certainly better than a lot of places in Oakland or San Leandro.

Roast Pork or siu yuk was seasoned well but not super salty. Skin was crunchy, but not of that light crunch like a wafer but more like a cracker.

Char siu had some nice char too it while being sweet without being dry.

Beef chow fun was loaded with meat and had wok hay.

Fried salt and pepper chicken wings were fairly large with tons of fresh chilis and garlic on top with a nice light batter

Food is great! It became our fav late lunch restaurant now! We come almost everyday after work and it's good that they still open after 3pm.

Can't complain the service either, they always greet us with big smile and prepare everything for you!

The place is clean and I enjoyed the music! Plus it feel so good to sit down inside while outside is really hot..

This was a takeout order and we got the food in less than 30 minutes. It's pretty good Chinese food. We ordered Kung Pao chicken, beef broccoli, tofu mushroom bok choy, and combo chow mein.  Kung Pao chicken has lots of flavor and slightly spicy which I like. Beef is tender in beef broccoli. Braised tofu and mushroom are yummy. Chow mein is so so.  I like the squid mixed in the combo which is rare at other places but there's too much bok choy in this dish.

Will come here again for their roast duck and honey bbq pork.
